Reason #4 - Dog Treatment

Many people who work at shelters are volunteers. They do it because they want to and it shows in how they treat the animals. Most people who work for pet stores and commercial breeders get paid minimum wage and see it as merely a job. The animals don't receive the love they deserve. Also, to maximize profits, they don't get the space they want because of overcrowding or the nutrition they need due to cost cutting.
